People can get bored with same style and a freshen up can spark a new wave of interest. This is especially true of billboard ads. People walk and drive past billboards all the time and subconsciously tune out of repeated messages.

This is why we decided to switch to a new layout for the latest round of digital billboard ads that we designed for AustStar Motors. The ads run on the Odna network and until recently have all featured an image of a Mercedes as the focal point. We decided to change to a text only style and use a warning sign style. This worked well because the blue that we use in the AustStar branding is similar to the background colour of amenity signage.

The result is a very eye-catching, direct and simple design – check them out as you drive around Brisbane. We look forward to hearing how successfully the campaign has been over the coming weeks.
