Gourmand & Gourmet is an online food publication dedicated to showcasing the tastiest food and booze Brisbane (and beyond) has to offer. They are the voice of your food loving best friend – a friend who knows the best places to grab breakfast, the coolest new bars in town, and where to cure your sugar cravings.
The client came to us with a website that lacked the wow-factor they were after. It was built on a pre-existing template, loaded with plugins and functionalities that were not quite up to scratch, especially for the amount of traffic they attract daily! They wanted a brand new website that was easy to navigate, that looked great and encouraged traffic to stay on their site for longer.
What we did.
As we were building the website from scratch, it was important to figure out all the finer details of what the client wanted and what they wanted their new website to achieve. We got together with the client and did a Scoping Session Workshop. Page by page, we worked out the purpose, the aims, expected content, special features, functionalities, filtering requirements and more. This process was formalised in a document and a checklist, which gave us a foundation on which to start the web build.
Just before we delved into the web build, we created a Web Style Kit based on inspiration and colour schemes the client liked. We added to and refined the creative elements that would be rolled into their new branding and acted as a guide for the overall web design.
From the Scoping Session Workshop, to the Web Style Kit to the Web Design & Development process, the whole team at BA Creative worked together to deliver a state of the art website for Gourmand & Gourmet. The website is completely customised including the special features and filtering functionalities to accomodate their large volume of content. The user experience has been enhanced significantly and it is fully responsive to major devices & browsers, which means it will look and work great on all devices and browsers. The design has been transformed to truly reflect G&G’s new branding.
