Whether it’s a matter of keeping your favourite companies afloat during COVID-19 or simply ensuring what you buy ends up on your doorstep (and within a reasonable timeframe!), choosing a business close to home seems like a no-brainer. Google even has the data to prove it – searches for “support local businesses” grew by over 20,000% since last year! So, we decided to ask the team at BA and round up everyone’s favourites in Brisbane:

Sarah, Content Specialist & Account Manager

My favourite Brisbane business: Yolk

Why I love them: They have a super simple business model – they specialise in bacon and egg rolls, and they do it well! You can customise the ingredients so even if you visit all the time, it doesn’t feel like you’re always eating the same thing. I really love the branding and the physical fit-out of the storefront (super Instagram worthy) but basically, it just boils down to me being a huge bacon and eggs fan.

Ethan, SEO Specialist & Account Manager

My favourite Brisbane business: Brewhouse

Why I love them: They have the best parmi in Brisbane, a good selection of beers, super friendly staff and are just down the road!

Nina, Web Designer

banana leaf

My favourite Brisbane business: Banana Leaf

Why I love them: Memories! We used to go for drunken noodles every single Friday lunch. I still go for dinners and it’s one of my fave Thai restaurants in Brissy!

Rosie, Director

My favourite Brisbane business: Absolutely Fabulous

Why I love them: A favourite of mine long before they moved into our ‘hood, when the shop was in New Farm and they stocked the most wonderful range of new and used quirky furniture. While they still have a few fabulous furniture pieces, it’s now my ‘to go’ for gifts. There’s also beautiful jewellery and clothes you don’t find anywhere else and homewares (I HATE homewares shops, but not Abso Fab). Did I mention Peta and Mary are clients of ours too? I think we wore them down – but it was all true, we love their stuff, and love an extra excuse to pop in to see them.

Solar, Project & Account Manager

xxxx brewery

My favourite Brisbane business: XXXX Gold

Why I love them: A Queensland icon! Often people are surprised that I enjoy beer, but it’s actually one of my go-tos.

Ana, Project & Account Manager

nodo donuts

My favourite Brisbane business: Nodo

Why I love them: Obviously the food at Nodo is amazing, but they also have a very appealing brand aesthetic. Just all around amazing!

Alyse, Senior Designer & Branding Specialist

My favourite Brisbane business: Fancy Schmancy

Why I love them: Fancy Schmancy are a local Brisbane business that have really nailed their niche, offering a quirky fun gift with a bit of tongue-and-cheek and the option to be personalised by their customers. Erin, Content & SEO Specialist
