About Our Client.

Classic Alfa are the largest supplier of parts for classic Alfa Romeos. They have a massive product range that covers parts for Alfas built from the 1950s through to the 1970s and all are ready to be ordered online and dispatched.

Although Classic Alfa are based in the UK they are really a global brand with a huge following worldwide. So much so that the next time you spot a beautiful little Alfa GTV or a glamorous Spider you can pretty much bet the owner gets their parts from Classic Alfa.

The Challenge.

We built Classic Alfa’s old website over 8 years ago and while we were proud that it lasted so long, it was definitely time for an update. The old site was not responsive and lacked the user experience that people expect from an online store these days.

One of the biggest challenges with the new site was to accomodate the extra level of detail and specific customisation that the client wanted while ensuring the website remained user friendly on all devices.

What we did.

To begin with we need to research and select the right ecommerce platform. We needed a system that could cope with the level of customisation while remaining stable and secure. The platform we ended up selecting was BigCommerce.

Next up was creating custom design elements and updating Classic Alfa’s brand. This included an updated logo, over 100 custom icons for cars & parts and introduced new colours.

Then it was time to start the build of the site and the migration of products from the old site.

The Result.

Classic Alfa’s completely new and beautiful website was a challenging yet rewarding build. The new online store is now fully responsive/mobile friendly, the extra level of detail & customisation of the site makes online shopping straightforward as well as engaging.

For us a real highlight of the new site is how it showcases the new and improved branding elements. We love the subtle retro feel that provides a great user experience without getting in the way of the focus of the site: allowing people to easily buy products.

Since launching the new Classic Alfa site site visits are up 10% and sales are up 27% – so it seems to have gone down very well!
