About Our Client.

Fancy Schmancy is a Brisbane-based balloon installation and gifts business. Whether you’re after a custom balloon that will make you laugh or a cute balloon garland that will blow your guests’ minds, Fancy Schmancy has you covered. Best of all, they offer same-day delivery in Brisbane! We had the pleasure of working with the down-to-earth owner Kady, who had a fun, open brief that let us flex our creative juices!

The Challenge.

Kady from Fancy Schmancy came to BA wanting a brand new Shopify site. The current online store needed an update in terms of design and functionality. The site worked well and had been successful in promoting the business and selling products, but it was time to take it to the next level.

The main objectives of the new online store were to create a website that reflected the quirky and creative personality of the brand. We wanted to enhance the site’s functionality and user experience. The site needed to be easy for Fancy Schmancy staff to maintain and ultimately sell more products!

The website also needed to accomodate for different delivery date availability that was dependant on location.

What we did.

We worked hard with Kady to design a site that complimented her quirky products and amazing work. The main new feature of the online store was it’s ordering process.

We implemented a custom ordering feature for products on the Shopify store. This included order information fields (for Delivery Date, Delivery Time, Recipient Information), as well as customisable product information fields (Balloon Colour, Balloon Shape and Custom Messages). We also implemented the ability to add custom Add Ons within the product page, allowing Fancy to up-sell by adding extra gifts to the customer’s order.

The Result.

We launched the Fancy Schmancy new store in the middle of a very busy period for the business – during COVID-19, when everyone was sending gifts online. Not only did the new store maintain the momentum of the old website, but it improved customer user experience and Fancy’s backend workflow.
